Hanging Baskets '09

Spring update 2009

With summer well on its way the members of Move 2 Improve have been working to make sure Aberfeldy sparkles with colour.

  • Three new hanging basket trees have been installed in the town with one opposite the caravan site
  • One beside Dunolly and the third beside the train display at Appin Place.
  • They have been helped by Aberfeldy Common Good Fund and Paul Summers sponsored two of the baskets, thus saving expense with the installation.
  • This year will see red and yellow begonias leading from the caravan site up to the square with some pink fuscias on the hanging basket trees.
  • Bank Street and Kenmore Street will have orange begonias with a spalsh of blue and white making a colourful display.
  • Peter Butters and his pupils at Breadalbane Academy have been tidying up the main car park in the town, which helps to give visitors a good impression.
  • The new train situated at Appin Place entrance

Sign up to the hanging basket campaign

We would like to thank the following business's for signing up to a monthly standing order or donating towards our hanging basket campaign.

We plan to have baskets along Kenmore Street and Breadalbane Terrace on street lighting and for two basket trees to be located in the sqaure.

Each business that signs up will have 2 watered baskets outside their premises between June and September. They also recieve a window sticker saying" we support flower power" to display in their premises, home or car.

We hope as the years go on, more people that join, the more aware everyone will be of the capmaign and each year should "grow" and "grow".

Residents can join the window sticker scheme, you will be kept informed of what is going on and hopefully many of you will join in and help with projects as they come along.
